Trail Drive Management Corp (TDMC) is the not-for-profit organization that manages the spectacular Dickies Arena, a 14,000-seat multipurpose venue located adjacent to the Will Rogers Memorial Center campus in Fort Worth, Texas. Owned by the City of Fort Worth, the state-of-the-art arena opened in November 2019 and hosts a variety of events, including concerts, sporting events, family entertainment, and Fort Worth Stock Show rodeo performances.
Job Summary:
Trail Drive Management Corp (TDMC) is looking for a full-time Warehouse Manager. This position will assist the Purchasing Manager with the successful operation of the arena and establishment of an in-house food and beverage operation, as well as the day-to-day and long-term business management. He/she will be responsible for assisting with hiring, training, and maintaining warehouse staff; assisting with pre-event preparation and setup process and adhering to established event schedules; delegating work to staff as necessary.
Essential Job Functions:
- Partner with the Food and Beverage department leadership to ensure successful operation of the F&B Department
- Assist with the establishment and enforcement of all company policies
- Work closely with other team members and other departments to ensure department-specific procedures, tasks, and goals are met, consistent and effective communication occurs, efficient operational performance, and a positive reputation of the venue within the market/ industry is maintained
- Assist with the development of policies pertaining to all purchasing and warehouse-related functions of an in-house F&B operation from beginning to end
- Works with the Purchasing Manager to ensure all warehouse team members have the tools necessary to complete their jobs
- Assist in the hiring, training, staffing, and scheduling of all warehouse team members
- Assist in the creation of order guides and requisitions for the warehouse, all restaurants, clubs, catering, rodeo box, club seats, suites, and all concession areas
- Support the monitoring of usage trends and ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained in anticipation of business needs
- Maintain warehouse par levels and prepare orders
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, and transfer of food and beverage products throughout the arena; make sure established guidelines are followed
- Verify all product transfers and ensure accuracy of information is input into the computer/inventory systems
- Assign daily tasks to warehouse team members and ensure all daily tasks are completed
- Verify all invoices for accuracy and report any shortages or discrepancies
- Establish strong relationships with vendors
- Provide supervision and consistent presence during events; observing event operations and monitoring service delivery; proactively addressing issues and gaps in service
- Supervise and motivate warehouse employees to work as a team
- Support the mentorship and development of supervisors and team members on a daily basis
- Lead team members in month-end inventory counts and ensure accuracy of information is input into computer systems
- Manage and maintain the time and attendance system on behalf of the purchasing department
- Responsible for the safe service and security of all alcoholic beverages
- Ensure HACCP standards are followed, including temperatures of food and beverage, product rotation, and cleanliness and sanitation of the area
- Ensure that daily walkthroughs are conducted throughout the venue with consideration of sanitation, safety, inventory levels, etc.
- Engage with internal and external guests to ensure exceptional hospitality is always received
- Assist in the development and achievement of assigned budget goals
- Contributes to required daily reporting
- Engage with the Trail Drive Management team in coordination of decision-making for facility-specific or event-related items as well as department-specific procedures, tasks and goals, including but not limited to President & General Manager, Director of Finance, Director of Marketing, Director of Food & Beverage, Director of Operations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- 5+ years of purchasing experience, buying and staff management experience preferred
- Previous experience in high-volume, complex food service operations; sports and/ or entertainment venue strongly preferred
- Previous experience with opening a food & beverage establishment and developing warehouse operations is strongly preferred
- Experience with computerized workforce management software is strongly preferred
- Experience with inventory and order management software is strongly preferred
- English reading, writing, comprehension, math, and computer skills required
- Experience with warehouse ordering, operations requisitioning, and/ or inventory control systems
- Experience with short and long-term inventory planning
- Strong client and vendor relations and staff management skills; previous experience with vendor and product selection strongly preferred
- Demonstrate knowledge in and experience with team member recruitment, training, development, mentoring, and counseling; experience leading teams in a supervisory or management capacity of 10-20 preferred
- Demonstrate ability to complete projects in a reliable, productive and expedient manner while adhering to strict deadlines.
- Keyboarding skills and computer proficiency with software knowledge, including MS Office
- Ability to operate motorized vehicles and warehouse equipment strongly preferred
- Ability to taste and evaluate food and beverage products
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including – nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to communicate effectively with management, guests, and team members.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
Working Conditions:
- Employees will work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures.
- Employees must have the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Employees may regularly spend their shift standing/walking, traveling stairs, with limited to no sitting.
- Employees may be exposed to high noise levels and/or fluctuating lights in event settings.
- Employees may be exposed to sharp objects, machines with moving parts, heat from ovens, burners, steam, trays, etc.
- Employees must have the ability to reach, lift, and bend to perform job duties throughout the shift.
- Employees will be exposed to hazardous chemicals, electrical shock risks, and vibrations throughout the shift.
- Employees may be exposed to hazards associated with moving vehicles and require strict adherence to safety protocols.
